There’s a lot to do at Epic Waters indoor water park in Grand Prairie. My kids and I were hosted by Epic Waters and one of their partners, Marriott Courtyard Dallas Grand Prairie. How to plan your visit to Epic Waters indoor water park in Grand Prairie Texas. Not enough gluten-free or vegetarian options, in my opinion, especially since they force you to buy food there (if your're going to stay any length of time, which you feel obligated to, after spending so much money on the tickets!) I would like to see a variety of healthy items, and something organic! No healthy options for drinks (other than the previously mentioned water), only soda, alcohol, or energy drinks. (They did offer a couple varieties of salads, chicken, burgers, and hotdogs). They also gave us each a water cup for free. And a fruit cup, which was awesome (strawberries, cantelope, honeydew, and grapes). The nachos were your "stadium variety" GMO-chips with coagulated cheese. I would have returned it and asked for another if my kids hadn't have pounced on it like a murder of crows)! We also ordered a pretzel which was cold and hard in the time it took to reach our table. We ordered a cheese pizza (which was completely burnt. We were there through the lunch hour and did wind up buying lunch, but regretting it later. The cabanas appeared nice and do create a sense of privacy if that's what you're looking for, although we did not rent one. You're not allowed to wear shoes on any of the water slides, however. I would recommend shoes for the changing areas, because there are showers in every single one of them and the floors were wet. The lockers were great (they offer a variety of sizes and prices), as well as the bathrooms and dressing rooms. At that point, we noticed the kids' lips were turning blue, they were shivering, and it was time to go. Overall, however it was comfortable until about 3pm. As the day progressed, they opened some of the windows (it was about 40 degrees outside that day), creating some chilly spots. When we arrived, you could feel the heat was on and the water was warm to get into. The customer service was impeccable the day we went everyone from the person who searched our bag they will confiscate any "contraband" (outside food or beverages), the girl at the ticketing counter, the lifeguards (always very diligently scanning in patterns I wondered if their necks hurt at the end of the day?!!), custodians, to the food service people. There are also a variety of life jackets available (free of charge) for the youngest visitors. There is definitely something for everyone, no matter what your "thrill" level is. There are 5 main areas of attraction- boogie boarding/surf wave, lazy river (which sometimes become a wave pool), a playpool with basketball goals and an anchored play shark, the big water slides (you must be 48" to ride all of them and at least 70 pounds to ride the one that drops straight down), and the playscape (for toddlers and smaller children). We chose a nice spot in the middle, where we could have good visibility of most of the park. We arrived promptly at 10am, making a broad selection of seating available to us. when most kids are in school, which is definitely the way to go to avoid the crowds. Even with the $100 gift card, we spent about $90 (for a 5th ticket, penalties for not living in Grand Prairie, taxes, locker, and lunch) so not sure we'd go without a coupon or free tickets again. My daughter won a gift card, so we (a family of 5) decided to give it a try. A good option if you are in the area, but not worth travelling for hours to visit this place. Did not spend the entire day as planned, because you can only go down the slides a few times before the novelty wears out. Their offerings are limited and the quality is what you would expect at any small amusement attraction. Food inside is sold, and not allowed to be brought from outside. So either better training or adult supervision is required. We did experience seeing constantly people cutting in line to get onto the slides and tubes, mostly condoned by the staff. Park operates with a large amount of very young staff, which seems to have minimal training. We purchased out tickets in advance over the internet, which was a good move, because at the park, the line to wait for a ticket will depend on availability. Soldout and reached capacity around midday on a Saturday. At time of writing this review, the facility has been open for about 8 to 10 weeks, so it is still brand new. Went to visit and spend the day, at Epic Waters indoor waterpark.
